Starting in the village of Essards, you can hike south to the English oak tree of La Ronde at the heart of the Motte forest. “It was planted around 1750 and villagers say Queen Victoria spent a night under its canopy.”

Further afield, 120 kms of bike trails can be explored between Tours and Candes-Saint-Martin. You can bike to Savonnières, Villandry, Langeais, Bréhémont, Rigny-Ussé, and Chinon and discover the heritage and environmental treasures of each of these sites.
