Aulnay Bricard lies at the heart of the Val de Loire region, included on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites since 2000.
The listing ranks the area among “the world’s major sites” thanks to its landscape and the banks of Europe’s last wild river. The Loire Valley is the unique result of a balanced mix of natural riches and Human genius. More information available at Touraine Loire Valley
L’Aulnay Bricard was built on the edge of an immense forest and in the heart of a pristine countryside. The surrounding wilderness is ideal for hiking, biking, and horse-back riding.
A few miles away, stands the medieval fortress of Langeais, and a little further are the renowned castles of Rigny-Ussé, Villandry, and Azay Le Rideau.
In addition to its castles, the region is rich in heritage. At the end of a long day visiting gardens, markets, antique fairs, and flea markets, try some of the local specialties in the surrounding cafés and tea rooms.
The region of Tours is also known for its exceptional wines; treasures await in the vineyards of Chinon, Bourgueil, and St-Nicolas.
